How does bidding and Buy Now work on Tradera?

The most common type of listing on Tradera is an auction with a fixed end time, where the person with the highest bid when the auction ends wins. There are also fixed-price listings and store listings where you can purchase the item directly without bidding.

Things to keep in mind
  • Read the description and check the condition of the items in the pictures, as the majority of items sold on the site are used.
  • There are several payment methods to choose from. If it's an expensive item, we recommend opting for our buyer protection.
  • Different listings may have different shipping options; sometimes items are sold with pick-up only as the shipping option.
  • Bids are always binding, and not paying for a won auction can lead to a report. Multiple reports may result in your account being suspended for a period of time.
  • Many people choose to bid in the last few minutes; if you want to increase your chances of winning an auction, you can place a maximum bid, which will bid on your behalf up to the amount you have chosen.
Bidding

The bid increments determine the minimum possible bid that can be placed.

1-19 SEK - 1 SEK

20-99 SEK - 5 SEK

100-199 SEK - 10 SEK

200-399 SEK - 15 SEK

400-999 SEK - 20 SEK

1,000 - 2,499 SEK - 30 SEK

2,500 - 3,999 SEK - 50 SEK

4,000 - 5,999 SEK - 100 SEK

6,000 - 9,999 SEK - 200 SEK

10,000+ SEK - 500 SEK

The reserve price is the lowest price the seller is willing to accept for the item.

The seller always has the option to set a hidden reserve price, which means they reserve the right not to sell the item for an amount lower than the reserve price.

If your bid is lower than the seller's reserve price, you will receive a notification that the reserve price has not been met.

We automatically raise your bid if another member on the site outbids you.

  • The maximum bid increases based on the bid increments when you are outbid.
  • The maximum bid cannot exceed the amount you set as your highest bid.
  • No one else can see your maximum bid.
  • If the seller has a reserve price, your bid will automatically be raised until the reserve price is met or until your maximum amount if the reserve price is higher than your maximum bid.
Common Questions and Answers

I won the auction, what happens now?

When you win an auction or purchase an item directly via a store listing, you will receive a winning email from us with the seller's payment details. You can also pay for the item in "My Tradera."

If you need to contact the seller, you can do so by clicking the "Contact" button in "My Purchases" or directly in the winning email.

How do I pay for the listing?

You can pay for your purchase in "My Tradera" - "My Purchases/Won." You can choose to pay for the item with Swish, Card, Klarna, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or PayPal (only for buyers residing outside Sweden).

Klarna and PayPal always include our buyer protection, which costs 2% + 5 SEK of the total price, and a maximum of 499 SEK.

For other payment methods, you can choose to add buyer protection at the time of payment.

How is the shipping booked?

The seller automatically receives your delivery information from us and will book the shipping according to what is stated in the listing. You can change the delivery address and pickup location at the time of payment.

If you have purchased several items from the same seller, it is always worth contacting the seller to see if they can combine shipping, as it costs you less and is better for the environment.

Do I have a right of withdrawal?

You only have the right of withdrawal if the purchase is from a company. Most transactions on Tradera are between private individuals, so the right of withdrawal does not apply. Our recommendation is to contact the seller first if there is a problem.

If you bought the item from a company, the right of withdrawal applies as usual.

Can I delay the payment?

You have the option to pay by invoice or in installments with Klarna.

If you do not want to pay by invoice, it is best to talk to the seller if, for any reason, you cannot pay immediately.

Can I change a maximum bid?

You can always increase or decrease your maximum bid, but you can never lower it below the current highest bid on the auction.
