Misleading titles and item descriptions

A brand name is only allowed to be used in a listing if the item is produced by that company.

Why do we have this rule?

If a buyer searches for, for example, "Adidas" and gets ads where a seller has written "shoes that resemble Adidas", this gives misleading search results and a degraded search experience. It can also create problems for the seller as the buyer may expect to receive a different item than the seller is actually selling. Using images without permission means the seller is infringing on someone else's copyright.
