My listing was taken down

We continuously review listings on the site to ensure that what is sold on Tradera does not violate any laws or our own rules. Some rules are based on ensuring that everyone can enjoy the site, while others are based on the need for special permits to transport, own, or sell the product.

When the security department reviewed your listing, we noticed something that either violates one of our rules or was not clear enough to ensure that the listing complies with our rules.

We always send an email specifying which rule the listing violated. The examples in these emails are general, so the reason your listing was taken down may not necessarily be included in the list of examples. We recommend reading our rules for a detailed explanation.

Sometimes it's because we haven't seen that listing yet; you can always help us by reporting the listing.

It might also be that we requested, for example, a receipt to prove that the item is genuine, or that clarifications in the listing text show that it does not violate the rule (see the example under alcohol below).

The first warning email is usually just to make you aware of the rule violation. However, we do close accounts in cases of repeated violations if someone continues to make the same mistakes despite multiple warnings.

We understand that in most cases, people were not aware of the rule or why this type of sale is not allowed on Tradera.

Common reasons why the listing was taken down

Below, we have compiled some of the most common reasons why we need to take down listings.

It is illegal to sell counterfeits in Sweden; this applies to everything from pirated games or movies to counterfeit branded clothing, bags, and accessories. This also includes bootlegs.

Often, it’s because the images are not clear enough to verify that the item is genuine. When selling more expensive branded items, it is recommended to include a photo of the label or receipt in the listing.

One of the most common reasons we close listings for incorrect shipping information is when the seller has chosen to sell the item with pick-up only but mentions in the text that the item can be shipped. To ensure that the buyer clearly understands the final price, the different options and their costs need to be specified.

Regarding payment methods, we close listings where the seller insists on accepting payment only via a specific payment method.

A common reason in this category is when a seller refers to a different brand than the one actually being sold.

Common mistakes include listing a pair of Bluetooth headphones with the word "AirPods" in the title, even if they are not AirPods, or selling a jumpsuit and naming the listing "Onepiece," which is a brand name.

Shipping companies generally do not allow the shipment of explosive or flammable goods without special transport arrangements and, in some cases, permits. We have therefore chosen not to allow this type of item on the site.

When it comes to matches, shipping companies do not allow them to be shipped. If you want to sell matchboxes, it is important to clearly state that they are empty to avoid having your listing taken down.

We do not allow listings where, for example, you choose one of the items in the picture or listings where you select the size and color of the item.

We want it to be clear what is being bid on. If you want to list many of the same type of item, we recommend that you open a store.

Special permits are required for all alcohol sales in Sweden. Therefore, it must always be clearly stated that the bottle/package is empty if, for example, you are selling mulled wine bottles or similar items as collectibles.
