I have received an item that does not match the description

Since the majority of sales on Tradera are second-hand items, there is a responsibility on both the buyer and the seller as the condition can vary.

Seller's responsibility:

  • Describe the item accurately and clearly in the listing.
  • Include information about condition, any defects, and other relevant details.
  • If the item does not match the description, you may have the right to have it fixed or to return it and get your money back.

Buyer's responsibility:

  • Read the listing carefully and make sure you understand all the information.
  • Check pictures and descriptions before buying.
  • Contact the seller if you have any questions.

Does it matter if I bought from a private individual or a company?

The exact rules for your situation depend on whether the seller is a private individual or a business. As a buyer, you have more rights if you have bought from a business because your transaction is covered by the Consumer Purchase Act.

Contact the seller via our messaging function to try to find a solution together. You can find the seller's details in Your purchases.

If you have used one of our integrated payment options with buyer protection, you also have the option to apply for a refund. Read more here.
