False messages
False messages via chat, email, or SMS are called phishing. It means that someone is trying to deceive you by pretending to be a company or a trusted source (e.g., Tradera or customer service). They aim to steal sensitive information such as card details, contact information, or login credentials.
The false message often contains a prompt to click on links that lead to fake websites or asks for your personal information.
Tip! Messages from Tradera's customer service are always yellow in the messaging function so that you can distinguish them from messages from another user. Never trust anyone claiming to be Tradera's customer service.
Examples indicating that it might be a phishing message
- You are prompted to provide your email address to complete the transaction.
- You are prompted to verify your account because it is frozen and, in connection with this, provide your email address.
- The counterpart states that they have booked a shipment or a courier, and you need to confirm by clicking on a link.
Remember that...
- Tradera never asks for your email or sensitive information like credit card information via messages.
- Tradera never redirects you to another site to complete a payment.
- Never click on or copy links sent via email, SMS, or chat that you are unsure about.
Contact us directly at abuse@tradera.com if you suspect you have received a phishing message or if you have provided sensitive information.
