The buyer has not paid for the item. What should I do?

As a first step, we recommend that you contact the buyer via our messaging function. You can find the buyer's details under "Sold" and "View order confirmation".

If you have already been in contact with the buyer and they do not want to complete the transaction, or if you do not receive a response, you can report the unsold item and the fee will be automatically credited.

The buyer has 3 days to pay for the purchase. After that, you can report the unsold item and relist the listing.

You report the unsold item under "Sold". Find the item in question and click on "More" and the option will be there. You will also have the opportunity to restart the listing or offer the other bidders on the listing the chance to buy the item.

You decide whether or not to report the buyer. Our recommendation is to report if you have not agreed to cancel the transaction.

Q: How long after I have sent a message to the buyer do you recommend waiting?

A: As external circumstances can affect the situation, our recommendation is to wait at least 2-3 days. How long you choose to wait is always up to you, but keep in mind that your counterpart may not be able to check their Tradera account daily.

Q: What happens to a buyer who is reported for non-payment?

A: At the second report, a warning is sent. In case of repeated behavior after the warning, the account will be suspended. The suspension period is based on whether it is the first time, how many reports have been received, and several other factors.

Q: The buyer has contacted me and wants to pay at a later date. Is that ok?

A: Yes, it is perfectly fine to agree with the buyer on payment at a later date. The buyer will receive an automatic payment reminder, but you can disregard it.
