What is the best way to pack?

It is important to pack your items correctly so that they reach the buyer in the best possible condition. Most carriers will refuse to pay compensation for damage caused by poor packaging.

• Choose a box or padded envelope that is slightly larger than the item you are sending, so that you also have room for protective material, such as bubble wrap. You can often buy suitable packaging from shipping providers, in some cases this is included in the price. If you do not have bubble wrap at home, you can reuse old newspapers as packaging to wrap glass, for example.
• Cover the item with bubble wrap, paper or other protective material that you already have at home, so that the goods do not move around and get damaged in the box.
• Use a wide tape when closing the box. If the box is worn, reinforce it with tape where needed.
• Make sure to clearly mark the recipient's address on the box. Also include your return address. If you are reusing a box, make sure that there are no old address labels on the package (be sure to cover all previous address information with a black pen).
• It is a good idea to include a printed order confirmation in the package so that your buyer can check that the correct item has been sent.
• Create opportunities for repeat business - include a business card with your alias thanking the buyer for their business.
